LESSON 4

BRIDGING THE GENERATION GAP

The older generation often feels there is a generation gap between them and the younger generation this is apparent in simple things like manner of dressing, socializing, more intimate relationships like friendship and marrying.
A lingering issue arises on how Educational Technology is integrated in the teaching-learning process. This is in line with the fact that the mere use of computer does not mean technology has already integrated in instruction. It is also said in this lesson that there is NO INTEGRATIVE PROCESS say for instance; the teacher lets students play computer games to give them a rest period during classes. There are also external manifestations of technology integration tackled in this lesson.
Here are some: There’s a change in the way classes are traditionally conducted; The quality of instruction is improved to a higher level in such a way that could not have been achieved without educational technology.
The teacher sets instructional strategies to address specific instructional issues or problems; and The use of technology provides the opening of opportunities to respond to these instructional issues or problems.

EXPERIENCE:

As an experience, I heard issues from the teachers about students taking up computer laboratory class were playing games like . instead of doing things that relate s to the computer subject lectures. It is  said in this lesson that there is no integrative process if the teacher lets students play computer games to give them a rest period during classes.
Also, there are teachers that misunderstood what the students are doing inside the classroom particularly on using their cellphone it shows dis respect for them even students explain of using as a calculator.

REFLECTION

As i experience comparison between old and new generation affects the quality of education and as future teacher i will provide instructions and activities that integrate new from new generation styles in teaching.

APPLICATION

Planning lesson is somewhat a critical  decision of the teacher how to provide active classroom that bridges the gap between old and new generation. the teacher also plan an activities that cover all students interest and learning styles.

LESSON3

UNDERSTANDING TECHNOLOGY LEARNERS

Today's learners appear smarter, yet they can't read as their parents do and they are addicted to the internet. even in classes, their concentration is questionable as they are uneasy to simply sit and listen.
To provide confidence to educators that they are taking the right steps in adopting technology in education, it is good to know that during the last few years, progressive countries in the Asia Pacific region have formulated state policies and strategies to infuse technology in schools.
The reason for this move is not difficult to understand since there is now a pervasive awareness that a nation’s socio-economic success in the 21st century is linked to how well it can compete in a global information and communication technology (ICT) region. This imperative among nations has therefore given tremendous responsibilities on educators to create an educational technology environment in schools.

List of the concerns for new learners is not well understood, it serves to know what scientist say, as follows:

  1. There are positive benefits derived from the use of information technology or digital resources and these counterbalance possible negative effects of technology on children.
   2. Daily exposure to high technology personal computers, video game gadgets, cellphones, internet search sites stimulates the brain by strengthening and creating neutral circuits.
   3. A current technological revolution is creating an intellectual revolution, faster and better than before.

EXPERIENCE
To know, about the learners needs in terms of technology we should do and understand the capability, learning style of the students, thus in our EdTech1 we were engage in various activities that caters all students needs.

REFLECTION:
From those those experiences I learn to make my class active integrating new ideas and technology aid that help students understand better than traditional lecture.

APPLICATION:
Doing lesson preparation we should think the availability of the technology, and the needs of the students and provide a most interactive classroom activities.

LESSON 1

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY II

Educational technology- is the effective use of technological tools in learning. As a concept, it concerns an array of tools, such as media, machines and networking hardware, as well as considering underlying theoretical perspectives for their effective application.
Lesson 1:
A review of educational technology I

Educational Technology 1 course provide us more information towards the new development in technology that will help us teachers as aid in teaching.

The Educational Technology 1 course as stated has paved way for students to become are, appreciative and equipped to use educational technology ranging from traditional to modern educational media. This course served to orient the learner to the pervasiveness of Educational technology in society, lend familiarization on how educational technology can be utilized as media for the avenues teaching learning process in school, uplift the learner to human learning through the use of learning technology etc. The course has also given us the opportunity to experience engaging ourselves more with technology use.

The course Educational technology 1 serves us to:
•         To orient the learner to the pervasiveness of educational technology in society.
•         To lend familiarization on how educational technology can be utilized as media for the avenues teaching-learning process in this school.
•         To uplift the learner to human learning through the use of learning technology.
•         To impart skills in planning, designing, using and evaluating the technology-enriched teaching-learning process.
•         To acquaint learners on the basic aspects of community education, functions of the school media center, and finally.
•         To introduce the learner to what is recognized as the third revolution in education, the computer.

 EXPERIENCE:
During our EdTech 1 we experienced a lot of activities that provide us awareness as future teachers in the global innovation of technology which is very helpful in the field of teaching. We also learn educational activities that help us in our daily life.
REFLECTION:
As we, take this course challenges came in but, we deal with it and do the task in
and our professor did an effort of making challenges, for us to learn more.
Today, those challenges help me as an aid in my educational needs, and provide my works into an easy way.
APPLICATION:
Before, time and effort is very needed in doing preparation for reporting by making some visual aids, but today using ppt helps my works more easier and my work is recyclable.
