LESSON3
UNDERSTANDING TECHNOLOGY LEARNERS
Today's learners appear smarter, yet they can't read as their parents do and they are addicted to the internet. even in classes, their concentration is questionable as they are uneasy to simply sit and listen.
To provide confidence to educators that they are taking the right steps in adopting technology in education, it is good to know that during the last few years, progressive countries in the Asia Pacific region have formulated state policies and strategies to infuse technology in schools.
The reason for this move is not difficult to understand since there is now a pervasive awareness that a nation’s socio-economic success in the 21st century is linked to how well it can compete in a global information and communication technology (ICT) region. This imperative among nations has therefore given tremendous responsibilities on educators to create an educational technology environment in schools.
List of the concerns for new learners is not well understood, it serves to know what scientist say, as follows:
1. There are positive benefits derived from the use of information technology or digital resources and these counterbalance possible negative effects of technology on children.
2. Daily exposure to high technology personal computers, video game gadgets, cellphones, internet search sites stimulates the brain by strengthening and creating neutral circuits.
3. A current technological revolution is creating an intellectual revolution, faster and better than before.
EXPERIENCE
To know, about the learners needs in terms of technology we should do and understand the capability, learning style of the students, thus in our EdTech1 we were engage in various activities that caters all students needs.
REFLECTION:
From those those experiences I learn to make my class active integrating new ideas and technology aid that help students understand better than traditional lecture.
APPLICATION:
Doing lesson preparation we should think the availability of the technology, and the needs of the students and provide a most interactive classroom activities.
